More things I love about Japan

1. Missing Denwa
I have always known that the Japanese are a honest lot...but my point was proven 100% in a single incident. I was shopping at Isetan.....was doing several things at the same time...eyes roving to see what interesting stuff I could buy and at the same time messaging oddmelody (who was back in Singapore) to tell her about my latest purchases and what other stuff I could help her to get.... I discovered my mobile missing shortly after I came out from the loo....I ran back immediately and looked high & low for it....finally one of the sales staff told me to enquire about my phone at the "Lost & Found section". The "Lost & Found section" was a little inconvenient....it was located in another building....at a neglected basement area....I ran all the way there & found a little lady seated at the counter....

Me: Konnichiwa...Sumimasen...watashiwa lost Denwa...Sony Ericsson Denwa....err....kyoo?!.....(yes...my jap is very lousy)
Lady: nfkserggjerlg sfjergjsettgje (in a string of Japanese words which I didn't know and couldn't catch)
Me: (So I replied in the only phrase which I am good at) Sumimasen...watashino nihongo amari wakaremasen....Denwa...Sony Ericsson!!?
Lady: What colour?
Me: ahhh...Black! Sony Ericsson K800!
Lady: Chotto Mate...

She went in and came out in 5 seconds and there there...was my beloved Sony Ericsson K800!

So you see..... This entire incident has proven me correct....the entire episode happened within 30mins (from the moment I stepped into the loo to the moment I collected my phone)....they amaze me...In singapore or any other country I've been to...I would never be able to see the phone again....

Another evidence for civic-mindedness...

2. Glorious Food.....
Now that I am back in Singapore...I missed the food....ahh.....glorious delicious Oishi food...

One of the Ramen dishes I had at the ramen museum...*Oishiiiii!!!*

3. Umeishu!
I'm addicted...It's plum liquor every night.... Just bought one today so that I can continue my regime....

4. Cosmetics part 1- Rose scent / essentials

I have been addicted to the rose flavoured / scent / essentials cosmetics for some time now. In Singapore, only Loccitaine has it...and it's really expensive...In Japan...they have the "House of Rose" and "Rose" Series Shisedo bath and cosmetic range (Shampoo, Conditioner, Moisturising Water Mist, Soap, Bath Gel, Perfume, Body Lotion, Hair Cologne etc etc).

Cosmetics part 2 - Jill Stuart

Really pretty packaging....simply lovely... and not available in Singapore

Cosmetics part 3 - Collagen

Available everywhere......on every part of the body....

All I can say is....you know you have aged if you need such supplements...*sigh*

5. Weather
I hate the weather in Singapore....too hot.....

Under the weather....

Not sure if its the weather...or the food or simply because I miss home soo much.

Felt really bad today....was coughing..running a fever and the body ached and creaked like a old wobbley door.... felt even worse when you know there isn't anyone to give you tender loving care, sweet kisses to take the pain away and a massage to soothe the aching bones....

Music & Lyrics - Way Back Into Love

I love this movie and all the movie sound tracks

Normally, I am not a romance movie type of girl...I am more of the bang, wham, explosions, blood and gore type of person...but the latest movie by Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore is simple enjoyable. Humour, Hugh Grant and great songs never fail to capture my heart. ;-)

Here is a glimpse of the theme song..."Way Back Into Love"

http://www.aimini.net/view/?fid=Iy97o0CxoGtnb9m4y9N1

Haley:

Ive been living with a shadow over my head

Ive been sleepin with a cloud above my bed

Ive been lonely for so long

Trapped in the past, I just cant seem to move on

Hugh:

I've been hiding all my hopes and dreams away

Just in case I ever need them again someday

Ive been setting aside time, to clear a little space in the corners of my mind

chorus:

All I want to do is find a way back into love

I cant make it through without a way back into love....ohh

Haley:

I've been watching but the stars refuse to shine

Ive been searching but I just dont see the signs

I know that its out there

Theres got to be something for my soul somewhere

Hugh:

I've been looking for someone to shed some light

Not just somebody to get me through the night

I could use some direction,

and I'm open to your suggestions

chorus:

All I want to do is find a way back into love

I cant make it through without a way back into love

and If I open my heart again

I guess Im hopin you'll be there for me in the end

Haley:

There are moments when I dont know if its real or if anybody feels the way

I feelI need inspiration, not just another negotiation

chorus:

All I want to do is find a way back into love

I cant make it through without a way back into love

and If I open my heart to you

Im hopin you'll show me what to do

and if you help me to start again you know that I'll be there for u in the end

Things I Love About Japan

I have been living in Japan for the past 3 weeks now.....in a dead town called Sagamihara....well it's actually not so bad...there is a pretty self-sufficient shopping mall, a supermarket, loads of restaurants (japanese, chinese, korean and western), a karaoke joint and a bowling alley! So yes, most days we can survive on these basic amenities....that is if we had the time...most days (mon - sat) we worked till 8 / 9 pm. Even when oddmelody came to visit me in Japan, I had no time to accompany at her except for 1 Sunday. ;-(
Anyway, in the last 3 weeks I was here, I discovered a couple of things which I really like about Japan....
1. The food...Ramen....
I only managed to take pictures of the ramen...cos' most times, I'd gobble down my orders before I remember to take pictures!

2. The clean toilets....with it's wonderful functions

3. The civic-mindedness of the japanese people...things hardly get stolen...

I am really amazed...branded bags and stuff lying around and noboby will take them

4. The weather...I can dress up...mufflers, shawls...jackets...

Appeals to my vanity...

5. The wide range of cosmetics!!!
Suits me well...;-)

6. Hair salon...I had my hair dine in the Japanese way!

A Cut, Treatment, and Colour cost me S$178 which I thought was very reasonable. It was a posh salon at Machida Lumine and it's called Capelli Punto. It was a great experience. The stylist and great looking shampoo boys pampered me with a hair and head massage twice and followed by a neck and shoulder massage as well. Their techniques were so comfortable and I was really relaxed....;-p

I will tell you more about what irritates me in Japan in my next entry....so stay tuned
