Discover Hong Kong!

Just came back from a wonderful trip in Hong Kong...shopping trip to be exact... It was God's blessing that we didn't get hit by typhoon while we were there.....it was a close call. Our flight was delayed though and it was then that I discovered the difference between SIA and Cathay Pac....Imagine being stuck in the plane for a whole 4 hours! No food no drinks served, no air-con...it was hot and stuffy and everybody were starving...SQ will never allow their passengers to suffer like that! Was suppose to fly off at 815am initially but our original flight was cancelled due to the typhoon. I had to join a queue (approximately the length of the Tuas Sin/Malaysia causeway) to get a rescheduled flight. But due to my great personality (ahem!), I made friends with another fellow passenger who had lobang to get the new flights in a much much shorter queue (6-8 pax at most in the queue)! Haaa! I managed to get a 1015 flight in a mere 45 mins (by then the original queue I was in hardly even moved!). When we all thought that that was the end of our bad luck, the pilot announced that the airline had to renegotiate the air routes through Ho Chi Minh city as they did not recognise the new flight numbers...the negotiation took 4 HOURS!!! Why they didn't let us off to walk around the airport is beyond me...Inconvenience?? It's not right that they make us sit in the plane for 4 hours as well with no food..no drinks and stuffy air....after much complaints they finally served us with ice-cream...can you believe that?

I only reached Hong Kong @ 2130hrs. 1 ENTIRE DAY WASTED!!!! My mum and I decided to just walk around the hotel and wake up to an early start the next day instead...

This trip, I covered quite a bit of shopping ground...for the fashionable and the shopaholic....you might find this initinery helpful....

Day 1:

1000 hrs Wake up & have breakfast at Sweet Dynasty
(take MTR to Tsim Sha Tsui , exit Kowloon Park exit A. Walk all the way
till you see Harbour City. Turn right and you'll see Sweet Dynasty.
Must try the Congee Breakfast set)

1100 hrs After breakfast, shop at Harbour City. The Polo Palph Lauren shop is relatively
cheaper then Singapore and of course all of the branded luxury goods....Tods,
Gucci, Prada, Bottega...you name it, they are all there. On average, luxury
goods are about $300-400 cheaper than Singapore prices. So what are you
waiting for?

1400 hrs Lunch at Superstar restaurant
(Harbour City 5th Floor. Must try the cotton rabbits dessert and the Yellow
Oily Crab. I found the crab to be a little expensive so I had the Yellow Crab
Xiao Long Bao instead...if you like Ding Tai Fung, you'll love this!)

1600 hrs Proceed to Fa Yuen Street for more shopping!
(Take MTR to Mongkok. Mostly women's clothing, jeans, shoes & casual
wear. I bought like 20 top at one go!! Reasonably priced at HK$39 - 69 at
most (S$6-12)

2000 hrs Dinner at Yi Shun Dun Nai (Steamed Milk)
(Along Mongkok street. Main meals include Sliced Beef Macaroni. Must try the
famous Steamed Milk)

2100 hrs Continue to shop till close...

Day 2:

1000 hrs Wake up and have a sumptuous Tim Sum breakfast at Maxim's (Queen's Pier)
Take MTR to Central. Walk towards Queen's Pier. Maxim's is located at the 3rd
floor of the City Hall (exhibition hall) Opens at 11am from Mon - Sat. Opens from 0930 on
Sun. Gotta go early if you dun wanna queue for seats.

1130 hrs Take train to Causeway Bay
Explore Times Square, Sogo, Fashion Walk and Fashion Island. My personal favourite is
Island Beverly where the latest Korean/Japanese fashion are! Lots of accessories as
well. Most of the clothes are brought in from japan/korea. There is this shop called 2068
and Focus which I had some great buys!

Thirsty? Try a Cooling refreshing mango drink/dessert from Shui Hui Shan (Xu Liu Shan).
