Red Hot Chili Pepper!

The recent spike in the price of chili spurred my determination to grow my own!

Look! This particular pot is for one of my friends who swears she does not have green fingers, so I'm helping her grow the chili plant up to mature stage before handing it to her.

Actually, my maid is the one with green fingers, so far, besides chili, we now have curry leaf plant and the mandarin orange plant.

Can't wait for my chili plant to bear fruit. Somehow, home-grown chilies taste better!

Great Food - Han Kee Fish Soup from Amoy Food Centre

This is my favourite fish soup stall. I am a fish soup fanatic and I have tried many many different stalls, but nothing beats the fish soup from Han Kee @ Amoy Food Centre.

Those who have been to Amoy Food Centre will know that there are many fish soup stalls. However, you gotta try THE fish soup from Han Kee.

For a mere S$3.50, you get more about 15 slices of supple, "spring-y" and fresh fish. The soup base is not oily, clear and so tasty - full of flavour from the sweetness of the fish. There are also lots of vegetables and you can even ask for more!
The others at Amoy, I found them to be expensive (about $7), super oily (cos' they add lard pieces) and after drinking a few spoons of the soup, you'll feel very thirsty (abundant MSG present??)
So if you have time, head down to Amoy and try the healthy fish soup from Han Kee!

TVB Drama - Land of Wealth

Just completed this new series "Land of Wealth" starring my fave male TVB stars Moses Chan & Steven Ma. The female leads include Sonja Kwok & Tavia Yeung.
This series is about China's first bank. It tells a tragic tale of corrupt officials, their wrong-doing, and heart-wrenching regrets between the relationships of the main characters. I simply love the costumes they used in this series which are very much comparable to those in War & Beauty.
I rate it 7.5/10. I preferred "Safe Guards" which also starred Steven Ma as he had a better and 'meatier' role to play.
