The Tammy Saga

Just learnt from my sister that Tammy was one of her friends during her Secondary School days, apparently they were quite good friends then. I have to admit that before, HP sex videos just seemed so distant and unreal....sure, I had a few peeks on my friends' HPs on such videos before but to know that this scandal involved someone who is directly and related to my sister just makes me shudder.

It seems increasingly difficult and challenging to bring children up in a moral and upright manner these days. During my time, all my parents needed to do was to scold or to wield the cane/rotan in front of me and I would dutifully do as they wished...these days, I heard that children actually could bring their parents to the police and accuse them of abuse if they were actually caned!?? We also read reports and watched programmes like 'Get Real' or 'Tab TV' show casing teenagers and their wilful ways. Gone are the days where we could scold or unleash capital punishment on our children. These days, children would retaliate in a manner which could hurt their parents many times more. I am not sure what possess this girl to actually video herself engaged in sex but in a subtle way it shows the girl's retaliation to cross the moral norms. She probably didn't think that such an action would really break her parents' hearts...or maybe she did....

Our society becoming more and more liberal where teenage pre-marital sex, unwed teen mothers (we see this even in TV with Mia - Singapore Idol finalist, coming up to publicise her life story) and teen prostitutes is becoming common. The sickening thing is that such stories is just so @#$%ing popular! Tammy Sex Saga was one of the top hits in the Technorati search or probably in most search engines during the last couple of weeks. It even overtook S Rajaratnam, our most respected pioneer of Singapore! She even has T-shirts and bags under her fashion portfolio now!

Sigh...I foresee such incidents becoming more and more common. This really strikes fear in me. I am afraid... afraid because I don't know if my other half and I can do a good job in bringing my baby up...afraid because I love her so much....

Year of the Cookey!

It's the Year of the Dog and I call it the Year of the Cookey! See my little Ah-Cook!

Read somewhere that we have to treat our dogs well this year because it's their year...and I say it's nonsense...whether it's the dog, pig, monkey or whatever year, we have to treat our pets well....SPCA announced that many of their puppies and dogs were fostered and adopted this year. I only hope that new owners keep their promise and give these dogs a good home.

A funny thing happened at one of the relatives' home during the 2nd day of the new year....this is what happened (dun think it needs much explanation...the dog stole Helena's pacifier!!!):

This Chinese New Year holds special meaning for me I guess as it's Helena's first Chinese New Year. My previous CNY celebrations were always action-packed...as in we'll leave home early in the morning and reach home pretty late....we'll gamble with cards and majong and invite friends over to party and pig out. This year, I have to say its pretty subdued. Didn't go as many places but we still manage to invite a couple of friends over to eat with us. Cooked a special fusion meal comprising of fried chicken wings, aglio olio spaggetti and veggie dips. Friends loved it! I'll post the recipe in a later entry...watch out for it.....

Helena's ang bao collection is also very fruitful...'Made' about 200% of what I forked out ;-).....Before you guys start accusing me of 'swallowing' her money, I have to annouce that I have kept every single cent for her in her little piggy bank...

This is Helena in her most recent...isn't she cute!? (I think I have contracted the 'Mummy's disease' - symptoms? The patient thinks that no other kid...and I mean no other kid.... is cuter and better looking than her own....)
